Kelly Ianson - Studio Owner, Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher

Kelly completed her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates instructor training in 2016 under Jessica Gradhandt at Thrive Physical Therapy and Pilates studio in Boise, Idaho.  Jessica studied under Nora St. John, the founder of world renowned Balanced Body University.  Kelly provides private training to clients in her own Pilates studio. She loves to see people of all ages and movement abilities who have tried other forms of exercise, discover how the Pilates method helps them to improve their posture, feel stronger, more balanced, and reduce pain, as new movement patterns are introduced.  She particularly enjoys working with the active aging body and addressing the challenges of  remaining active and moving for this population.

Kelly has been involved in the fitness industry for the last 31 years. She held certifications from ACE and ACSM as a certified personal trainer from 1990-2002. She also held certifications in Spinning, and Body Pump. In addition, she taught step and circuit group exercise classes at various facilities in Boise and Pocatello. Kelly holds a B.S. Degree in Physical Education with a Health Promotion emphasis from Boise State University. She has also taken graduate level courses in anatomy and exercise physiology.

Kelly has always had an interest in Pilates, however that interest peaked in 2013, when chronic low-back pain set in from injuries due to years of incorrect movement patterns and poor posture.  Seeing how much Pilates helped to correct her alignment, movement, and reduce her pain significantly, she became motivated to get back to doing what she loves and teach others how Pilates can help them improve their quality of life. She also loves to golf and has seen how Pilates can significantly improve the range of motion and power of the golf swing in both herself and her golfer clients.
